Behold... Mephistopheles!!

Hey everyone!  So what we have here is a pencil drawing of  the main antagonist in my story-line (and possible video game if I play my cards right ;D ); Archangel Mephistopheles.  He was once a celestial-like being who watched over the universes and used his power to keep the flow of time in check, but was displeased by the fate of the world.  So long story short, his power corrupted him and he was banished from the watch-tower (for lack of a better description) so he goes to change the world personally.

I wanted to make him epic, angelic but corrupted with demonic power.  I'm actually very proud of how this came out, particularly the angel wing.

ps many of the pictures I'll be posting will likely be ideas and concepts for the game's storyline

The 1 Percent

This is a portrait I did for my illustration class.  The class had to find a picture from LIFE magazine's gallery, and over the semester we have to recreate it in a variety of different mediums.  This specific picture is of a "One-percenter" in the Hell's Angels.  The term was created to describe how most of the gang was there for the freedom and joy of riding, whilst there was the one percent who was actually a convicted felon.
I chose this picture because I simply thought it was a perfectly shot photo, that and he looks like a spitting image of my dad when he was younger.  Here is where you can find the original picture.

And here we have the picture as done in india ink and paintbrush
Here is a monochromatic acrylic painting as well

Illustration Friday: Twirl

Every Friday I participate in a website known as Illustration Fridays, where they give various artists around the net a said word.  This past week, the word was "Twirl", so this came to mind.  A straight up watercolour piece

So i started off with a quick sketch of the first thing that came to mind when i thought "twirl". Oddly enough what I thought up of was the representative of Death (a character in a story I'm making) twirling in a spirally cloud of darkness.

Here are some thumbnails, i was wondering if I wanted to make her a very dark character (which seems fitting) or if I wanted to make her more angelic, which would've made it a little bit more different.

I eventually settled with the dark black/grey tones, due to the fact that the character is dark, merciless, and without emotion.  I wanted to get the wings a deep murky black, so there was alot of black used here.

aaaaaaand here's the finished product!   Looking forward to the next word. (get it? because the next word we have to do is 'forwa.. *gets tomato thrown at*)
